NAILGUN – sechs ambitionierte Musiker aus Süddeutschland, haben es sich
Mitte 2008 auf die Fahnen geschrieben, ihre Vision einer amtlichen
Metalband gemeinsam zu verwirklichen. Ziel hierbei war, die Erfahrungen
und Ideen, die jeder Einzelne über Jahre in unterschiedlichen Bands und
Stilrichtungen sammeln konnte, zu bündeln und das Beste daraus ín einem
neuen Projekt zu vereinen. Ein Name für dieses ehrgeizige Vorhaben war
bald gefunden: NAILGUN was born!
Bereits im April 2011 konnte das Sextett mit dem komplett in Eigenregie
produzierten Debütalbum „Paindustry“ auf sich aufmerksam machen, wie
zahlreiche positive Resonanzen in unterschiedlichen Webzines und
Magazinen im In- und Ausland belegen. So spricht die EMP-Redaktion von
„kräftigem Metal der düsteren und druckvollen Sorte“ sowie „komplexen,
aber stets lobenswert eigenständigen und sehr interessant aufgebauten
Kompositionen“. Das österreichische Earshot-Webzine lobt die
“eingängigen Hooks“ und bezeichnet die CD als „ein wirklich starkes
Albumdebüt“, das rumänische Lets Rock-Webzine bescheinigt: „It motivates
you to listen to it again and again!“ – um nur einige Kommentare zu
nennen. Darüber hinaus wurde „Paindustry“ auch in Deutschlands
bekanntestem Web-Metal-Radio „Metal only“ mit 3 Songs vorgestellt.
Schon kurz nach der Veröffentlichung des Debüts machte die Band sich an
das Songwriting für das Nachfolgealbum, das den Titel „New World Chaos“
tragen sollte. Es entstand dann unter der Regie von Tom Müller im
Jan./Febr. 2012 im „Flatliners Studio“ in Ingolstadt unter
professionellen Bedingungen, um NAILGUN auf das nächste Level zu hieven.
Die 10 Songs + Intro zeigen eine deutlich gereifte Band, die noch
vielschichtiger und abwechslungsreicher als auf dem Debütalbum agiert:
Straighte, aggressive Metal-Nummern, komplexe und eingängige Songs,
balladeske Momente sowie grooviges Material – auf „New World Chaos“ ist
alles vertreten, immer garniert mit ausgefeilten Gitarren-Leads,
eingängigen Melodien und starken Refrains. Auch die beiden
unterschiedlichen Sänger agieren inzwischen vielfältiger, kommen noch
besser zur Geltung und verleihen so den aussagekräftigen Texten jenseits
gängiger Metal-Klischees perfekten Ausdruck.
Das äußerst gelungene und stimmige Artwork von SeasonZero rundet das
Album perfekt ab greift den Albumtitel gekonnt auf und stimmt den Hörer
bestens auf das ein, was ihn auf „New World Chaos“ musikalisch erwartet.
NAILGUN – six ambitous musicians from Germany, made it their mission to
realize their vision of a genuine Metal-Band in the middle of 2008. The
aim was to pool the experiences and ideas, that every single member
gained in other bands over the last few years, and combine them in an
all new project. A name for this aspiring project was soon found:
NAILGUN was born!
As long ago as April 2011 the band received attention with the on their
own initiative produced debut CD „Paindustry“. Many magazines and
webzines gave them a positive feedback.
The editorial department of EMP says „powerful Metal of the dark and
forceful kind“ and „complex, but always independent with intersting
built compositions“. The austrian Earshot-Webzine commends the „catchy
hooks“ and describes the CD „a really strong debut“, the romanian Lets
Rock-Webzine certifies: „It motivates you to listen to it again and
again!“ , of course these are just a few examples. Furthermore 3 songs
of „Paindustry“ were presented on Germany’s most famous web-metal-radio
„Metal Only“.
Shortly afer the release of their debut CD the band started writing for
the second album, titled „New World Chaos“. Under the direction of Tom
Müller the album was recorded at „Flatliners Studio“ in Ingolstadt in
early 2012. The recording process was very professional to bring NAILGUN
up to the next level.
These 10 songs plus the Intro show a clearly matured band, that performs
even more complex and varied than on the first album: straight,
aggressive metal-tracks, complex and catchy songs, balladic moments as
well as groovy material – everything is represented on „New World
Chaos“, always garnished with elaborated guitar-leads, catchy melodies
and vigorous choruses.
The two singers act more diverse as well, show more to advantage and
therefore give meaningful lyrics beyond typical metal-cliches a perfekt
expression.
The felicitous and coherent artwork by SeasonZero rounds the album
perfectly, skilfully takes up the albumtitle and attunes the listener to
what could be expected on „New World Chaos“.
